1 John 2:5-6 New International Version (NIV)
5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.PRINTABLE SERMON NOTES (PDF FILE)
4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.
6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
9 Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
1 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
17 The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”
9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.
10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,
15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
1Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
1As for other matters, brothers and sisters, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.
