Testimonials From our Co-Spokesmen
The Bible says “If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself,’ you are doing well.” James 4:8. In Luke Chapter 10 of the Bible Jesus asked who was a neighbor to a man in trouble and was told “the one who showed him mercy”. Then Jesus said “go and do likewise”.
At Unity Bible Church we are attempting to heed the biblical call to show mercy and love to the many homeless men who are our neighbors in the area. Many are living in tents or abandon buildings during the winter, have little or no heat and minimal food. Some have to walk all night to keep from freezing. We want to give them shelter, hot meals, hope, life skills, encouragement and Bible teaching to help them get a new start in life. We want to support them physically, socially and spiritually so they will be able to support themselves and help others in turn. In short we desire to treat our homeless neighbors as we would like to be treated.
Jesus calls His church to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked. When you do this for the least of these you do it for Him. Our desire is to see God glorified through providing the physical and spiritual needs of the men that come to the shelter. To give them hope.
